THE TWIKKER FUND
Student-run. Research-led. Real capital.
The Twikker Fund is USIS’s investment fund, run by students across two arms: a Long-Term Fund and a Competition Fund where analyst teams compete for the year’s best return.
Real capital. Real decisions. Run entirely by students.
The Twikker Fund is the University of Sheffield Investment Society’s student-run investment fund, split across two arms with a combined capital of over £280,000.
The Long-Term Fund is the backbone of the Twikker Fund. With more than £220,000 under management, it is run by students who research, pitch and manage a portfolio built to grow over years, not weeks. Analysts take ideas from first screen to full investment case, and the portfolio is reviewed and debated as markets move.
The Competition Fund puts £60,000 to work across teams of analysts. Each team manages £10,000 and competes for the highest return of the year, meeting weekly to review its portfolio and debate stocks and markets.
Across both funds, every position starts with research: no trade is placed until the fund’s chairs have received a detailed analyst report making the case for it. And every week, the whole fund comes together to build analytical skills and discuss macro trends, so members leave with the practical experience employers look for.
